Green Gift Wrapping 04 December 2010
Did you know that wrapping paper cannot be recycled? Or that every Christmas, Canadians produce an additional 300,000 tonnes of garbage just to wrap their gifts? Let the KSC help you to reduce your holiday waste this season! Drop by any Saturday in December, 11-3, to have our team of enthusiastic volunteers wrap your gifts using environmentally friendly materials. Our service is free of charge but we will graciously accept any donations that will be shared between Transition Kingston and the Sustainability Centre. In case you can't make it down to the centre on a Saturday, check out the Good Wrap section on the City of Kingston website for sustainable wrapping tips. The Made 4 You crew also has a great selection of handmade scarves and bags, ideal for concealing that perfect gift.
